- constructed at the shipyard G. de Vries Lentsch in Amsterdam, NL after plans by the naval architect E.P. Hart.
- initially owned by the Englishman D. Lawrie, but for sale only after a year.
- 1934 acquired by D. Pedro Galíndez, renamed the "Saltillo" after the residence of the owner, what means as far as forecastle in English.
- 1936 damaged by a bomb in the Civil War, repaired until the end of war.
- used as private yacht and participation in many regattas.
- 1946 D. Pedro J. Galíndez gives the boat to D. Juan de Borbón, Count of Barcelona.
- 1948 accompanying participation in the first Olympic Games after the war.
- continuing use as a yacht and for match races and regattas as member of the Real Sporting Club.
- 1958 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean to News York.
- 1962 the wedding between D. Juan Carlos de Borbón and Dña. Sofía of Greece is celebrated in Athens.
- 1963 voyage to England.
- 1968 D. Pedro Galíndez donates the "Saltillo" to the Official School of Nautical Science, she started a career as a sail training ship
- 1987/88 begin of the overhaul and continuing restoration in shipards, after a few years in drydock "Saltillo" was restored until 1998 with important contribution by the Dept. of Transport of the Basque Government.
- today used by students of the High Tech School of Nautical Science and Marine Engineering in Bilbao, participated the Cutty-Sark-Tallships-Race 2002.
