  • built in 1935 at the Geo. W. Kneass shipyard in San Francisco, California as a sailing Arctic cargo ships for the two Inuit fox trappers James Wolkie and Fred Carpenter.
  • 1936-61 used to transport the winter’s catch of fur to market in early August and for transportation of supplies from Aklavik and Tuktoyaktuk to Sachs Harbour on Banks Island in late August and early September when ice conditions permitted sea navigation, laid up during the winter each year.
  • 1961-68 laid up on the beach, cargo flights became more efficient.
  • purchased by her second owner Sven Johansson in 1967 and refitted for navigation in the Beaufort Sea.
  • 1968-73 used for scientific investigations in the Arctic Ocean, subsequent voyages included surveying the British Columbia Alaska boundary, ecological adventures, sail training and searching for mermaids.
  • purchased by Sheila and Bruce Macdonald in 1996.
  • available for use in the film industry, for school group tours, historical societies and is a regular participant in classic and wooden boat shows.
