  • built in Skånevik in Norway 1867-68; used as a seal hunter.
  • acquired by Capt. Koldewey on behalf of the "Bremer Committee for German Arctic Research"; during voyage in the direction of East Greenland in 1868, she reached the northern-most point of north-west Norway up to that time.
  • returned to Bergen/Norway as it was not possible to continue due to the pack-ice edge; the fact that the ship had resisted all the (15 cm) ice-pressure with her thick planks meant that the expedition supplied important findings for subsequent expeditions.
  • no longer used as an expedition ship she was sold to a Norwegian owner in 1871 to be used as a cargo and fishing vessel.
  • the ship has been kept running by the "German Navigation Museum Bremerhaven" in cooperation with University of Bremen since 1973.
  • took part in windjammer parades in Oslo in 1978 and Karlskrona in 1980 as well as a large number of other regattas, such as the 1996 Hanse Sail in Rostock und der Sail Brest 2000.
  • 2000 fitted with a new engine.
