  • built in Risör, NOR in 1935 as a cargo ship for the Bryngelsson family from Öckerö, outside Gothenburg, SWE.
  • enlarged in 1938 and fitted with another mast and more sails.
  • transported ice and grain for North Sea fish harbours until the World War II, later used for fishing and smuggle between Sweden and Norway during the war.
  • after the war from 1947 she traded 2 times per week between the island of Knippla and the warehouse on Lake Vänern through the Göta Canal.
  • 1952 replacement of the engine.
  • since 1978 owned by the MBV Skolskepp Brattebergskolan, conversion into a sail training ship until 1984, offered longer training voyages for youth until 2005.
  • 2008 bought by Pauli Kivekäs, from Turku, FIN; moved to Finland in spring 2009, offering sail training for young people, schools and other educational institutions, used as a pleasure craft for short trips in the Baltic Sea.
  • used in Copenhagen, DK as floating hotel in 2012, because she was not maintained for a long time her state got worse.
  • 2014 found by a group of friends who started to refit her, donated to the newly formed non-profit organization Hawila Project by Pauli Kivekäs, restoration until 2017.
  • since 2017 co-operation with the M/S Museet for Søfart in Helsingor, DK; the organization became a member of the Danish association of wooden ships Træskib Sammenslutningen (T/S) in 2018.
  • September 2020 begin of a major refit in Holbæk, DK, to convert the ship into as a commercial sailing cargo vessel, refit will last until November 2021.
  • according to the vision of Hawila Project the vessel will be used to engage and bridge coastal communities with transported local products by sail and as onboard platform for cultural exchange and education.
