- built in 1898 at the shipyard D.W. Kremer & Sohn in Elmshorn/GER as ewer (barge) for freight trips under conditions on the rivers Lühe, Oste and the Elbe, length of the ship had to be make possible to turn on the Lühe river, initially primarily transporting grain for boatman Johannes Pickenpack, Neuenkirchen/GER.
- several changes of ownership from 1926, renaming to "Meta II", which also led to changing uses in the freight business.
- 1928 removal of the rigging and conversion to a motor cargo ship with a wheelhouse.
- after a failed concept for small freight trips, used as an auxiliary ship at the shipyard Deutsche Werft in Hamburg (Finkenwerder), GER; new name "D.W.6", then sold twice more before the ship was sold in 1965, under the name "Max" it was often unused and in auxiliary service for several port and engineering companies.
- about 1978 overhaul and modifications, removal and replacement of the wooden floor and wooden deck with steel and fitted with more powerful engines.
- sold in 1994, but no further use.
- discovered by a ship enthusiast in 2000 and planning of the restoration as ewer (barge with a flat bottom), taken over in 2001 by the GLORIA e.V. association to carry out the necessary work from August 2001 to 2004, on the Elmshorn Museum Shipyard extensively restored.
- offering trips for interested guests to cover further costs, to be able to finance further restoration, ongoing maintenance and ship operations.
- 2006/08 construction of the rigging and leeboards, since then in addition to motor trips on Krückau, Pinnau, Schwinge she offered sailing trips on the Elbe.
- 2016 replacement of the boom.
- since 2021 operated as a sports boat by the non-profit association "Freunde des Ewers Gloria" e.V.
